CPD Workshops 2020/2021
You’re very welcome to this brief Guide to the materials for the Religious Education CPD Day 2020/2021. This Guide is intended to provide an overview of the content, messages and discussion points of the CPD materials as you engage with them as an individual, a group of teachers or as a Subject Department. The materials will be helpful for teachers who may not have been able to attend the workshop in Religious Education on their cluster CPD day 2020/2021, for newly qualified teachers or for teachers teaching Religious Education for the first time in Junior Cycle. The materials will also be of interest to teachers who attended the CPD workshop in their cluster day 2020/2021 and who would like to revisit the materials.

Introduction

This section examines the importance of reflection in RE, with a particular focus on reflection in the CBA process.
Section 3: Padlet Reflection Prompts
This Padlet wall provides prompts for department discussion or individual reflection about your planning and practice in Junior Cycle Religious Education.
Section 4: Big Picture Planning
This section provides an overview of planning for the three years of Junior Cycle Religious Education.
Section 5: Interactive Planning
The final part of this CPD is dedicated to subject department planning. This self-guided interactive booklet will give you the opportunity to review and update your planning documents. Please feel free to use, adapt and alter the planning templates to best suit your needs and context.
